Another Helpful Mock-up
We recently created a stand to display an antique naval cannon. We first constructed a quick prototype in order to better see what proportions and diameters of the supporting curves worked best to cradle the cannon. The final stand is made of wenge, a very dark wood from Africa, with dark brown leather cushioning the cradle cut-outs.
